I have a new Cisco 3600 router that came preconfigured. I am having connection trouble, I need to find out the routers IP address so that I can ping it. The router came from our corporate HQ with out any paperwork at all, I need to be able to figure out the ip address for this thing and without any documentaion am unsure how to go about this. Thanks.

You could try connecting to it via the serial cable and Hyperterminal, that way you could logon an see the address.

As Simon says connect via the console port to your serial port on the PC and run Hyperterminal.
If the router has been configured before it will probably have a password set, try cisco as the default.
If not you will need to do a password recovery. You can find the procedure clearly documented on ciscos web site
and search for password recovery.
