Since putting in a new Cisco 4006 switch I have had problems with a Router which appears to hang and only comes back to life when powered off/on.

The Router is a 4500 with IOS 11.2
The switch is running 6.2(1)

On the local subnet I get no response when pinging the default gateway/ethernet address.

I have swapped out the data cable and the same thing happens.

The switch port stats show the following:

Port Status Channel Admin Ch
Mode Group Id
----- ---------- -------------------- ----- -----
3/1 connected auto silent 199 0

Port Align-Err FCS-Err Xmit-Err Rcv-Err UnderSize
----- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------
3/1 - 0 0 0 0

Port Single-Col Multi-Coll Late-Coll Excess-Col Carri-Sen Runts Giants
----- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- --------- --------- ---------
3/1 76333 24093 0 20 0 0 0

The card on the Router is 10MB/Half Duplex and the switch port is set to the same.
Only this switch port has CDP enabled.
Portfast is NOT enabled.

Any ideas?

Whats in your route and or arp tables. The trouble started with the 4005, have you removed it, and test. Jeter@LasVegas.com
