When I power off the router to add the second WIC card and memory will I encounter any confusion with the two cards once it's powered back on. Will my current configurations continue working even with the second Card in place. Will I encounter any network failure as far as clients accessing our web?

The answer is yes, you can have multiple serial ports. yes the config "Should" work but I will qualify it with this short story.

Added a quad card to a 4700 with 2 ports already. The IOS shifted port 0 from the builtin port to one of the new HD serial ports. Hence I had to change out the cables which was not expected. Other then that, it's been great.

You should not encounter any trouble by adding a wic and memory. All should work as it was prior to the install.
Type show ver to determine the new hardware. Then proceed as usual with the new serial interface. Good Luck #-) Jeter@LasVegas.com Remember to pass Cisco's CCNA you need at least an 849 to pass!!!
