Dear Tek-tips Forum member,

Need information about Router 1600 as DHCP Server:
1. Can Router 1600 can be work as DHCP Server?
2. How high memory and flash for router 1600 to work as DHCP Server?
3. What type IOS that I must use for this feauture? IP Only or IP Plus?

Thanks,
Rachmat Z

Yes, you may use the 1600 router as a DHCP server. You may use an IP Only flavor but you need at least the 12.2(11)T train. First mainline avaiable is 12.3(1a). 12.2 requires 4MB of RAM and 12.3 requires 6MB. Both require 12 MB of Flash.
This is valid for 1601-1604 routers.
