Route table, entries with wrong gateway

NT4 server with latest Service pack.

My route table is showing entries and assigning a gateway which is not in TCP gateway list.

E.G. TCP configured to use gateway *.12(Default) and *.251 ONLY

Traffic coming through the *.12 gateway to the server is sometimes being assigned a gateway of *.254

Route table shows the following:
Active Routes:
Net Dest Netmask Gateway
192.168.10.10 255.255.255.255 *.12 (Correct)
192.168.10.10 255.255.255.255 *.254 (WRONG)

*.254 is not in the TCP Gateways.

Any advice appreciated.
