Hello,
My question is regarding my Meridian Option 11 c. I am trying to understanding the concept of routes and how the switch selects a route to process an incoming call & also how it selects a route to place an outcoming call.
I can see which of my PRI's belong to with route by the following commands:
ld 21
ltm
rout 0
this gives me the pri belonging to the route, is this correct?
I can the go through a few different ld's ie ld 87 & ld 49 to see which table an extension is pointing to and if it is allowed to make an outgoing call.
But my question ( if this makes sense!) is how does a entension find it way to the route for it to dail out on?
My route outgoing is rout 0 but I have a few other routes on my switch pointed to other PBX equipment, why does the call get passed to one of the other routes? How does the switch know that the call must be placed on route 0.
Just trying to get my head around how routes work
Many thanks
