route add returns network unreachable! :(

Hi, this is driving me crazy.
I'm running HP-UX (B.11.23 U ia64), and I can't add a route. It just says "network unreachable", even though I can ping the gateway that I'm adding...

This is the command I'm running:
route add net 10.4.0.0 netmask 255.255.0.0 10.0.30.254
Does anyone know what's wrong?

Whats your default gateway? Anway: 10.0.30.254 is not inside 10.4.0.0.

Nevermind, I figured it out. For some reason I also needed to specify a metric of 1:
route add net 10.4.0.0 netmask 255.255.0.0 10.0.30.254 1
