I have a legend 7.0 reciving 3 digits. Prgraming with SPM 3. I have just had a new range of DID numbers XXX-XXX-X700-799 ported to my pri. I have an existing range of XXX-XXX-X800-899. My existing numbers work fine all going to there assigned extensions. my new numbers all go to the operator console which is 800. I am unfamial with routing in dial plan. I have been testing with ext 759.

Any help Ladies & Gents?

Well, there are a lot of ways to program PRI.

Basically, if you have a table set up to expect 3 digits, and don't do any deleting or adding, and you receive 3 digits that match something in your dial plan, the call should go through OK.

However, PRI is extremely easy to screw up.

I suggest you print and post your PRI translations, and your EXTENSION DIRECTORY and we can look at it and see if there are any conflicts.

Programming PRI on a Legend/Magix can take a few HOURS (If things go right) and/or several DAYS if things don't.

Some of us have tools available to determine how many digits they are sending.

Just remember this: - RULE #1, THEY ALL LIE.....

Thx for the quick response.

After posting I printed the PRI info and I think I understand some of what Im looking at. It looks like I was set to receive 4 digits. That rings a bell from when I first put this system in years ago. Patec told us this morning that we were already receiving three digits so they will send these numbers with three digits. I have a funny feeling they are wrong and we should be getting 4 digits.

Anyway I have included the files. What do you think?

Could not upload whole file??? so Im pasting a piece below.

Dial Plan Routing Table

A Entry Number: 0 1 2 3

Well now we need to know just what they are sending.

That 0001 deletion looks kinda' weird to me.

So, tell us the rest of the story....

entry number 1 is how it was set since install. I had a former Lucent tech dial in and setup the pri for me. I copied the settings from number 1 to number 2 and changed the 800 to a 700. It was a guess. But I am ver suspicous about the digits. Is it possible for them to send 4 digits for one DID group and 3 for another?

Yes that is possible, but before you can make any real programming decisions, you absolutely must know what they are sending.

When you set up a "PATTERN TO MATCH" of 0001, that means you are expecting them to send something like 0001 and then some other numbers.

That looks very fishy to me....

So, I would ask them, "Just what are you sending?"

In Pattern 2 change it back to match patterns 0. Do this first.

Then on pattern 0.

Change digits to match............4
Leave Pattern to match..........Blank
Change Delete digits.............1
Leave Digits to add.............Blank

According to your table you have an inbound telephone number on this PRI that ends with 0001 and is therefore routed to 800...which is probably the LDN. Based on the info you have posted this should fix you problem. lg

I have read thru this info again. IF after changing table 0 like I have explained your calls do not work.

Set Pattern 0 like this:

Digits to match.....3
Pattern to match....Blank
Delete digits.......Blank
Digits to add.......Blank

My first response was assuming the network was sending 4 digits. The setting above is for three digits. Most of the time "they" want to send the same number of digits on all numbers...but, they can send what they want...and it is up to us to figure out what they are sending. If either one of these work...the 3 digit or the 4 digit set it to match 7 digits and retest.... I had one just like this one a few months ago where they actually sent 7 digits on my new range of DID's where they sent me 4 on my existing ones. Let us know what happens. lg
