Hello

just a quick question: Does Apache support log rotation?
My access log is getting a bit huge and i'd like to start a new one without damaging my old one.

does anyone have any hints/tips/stories about this topic?

thanx in advance [pipe]

Thanx, piti.

i just noticed an endorsement of chronolog on apache.org (in spite of their own rotateLog program!! :) so it must be pretty good. i'm gonna give it a go now in a second.

By the way, anyone out there have any experience upgrading from Apache 2.0.3X to 2.0.4X. if so, are there any tutorials/howtos you could point me to? i'm considering upgrading my system. is it that necessary to upgrade when both versions are so similar?

Upgrading from 2.0.3x to 2.0.4x shouldn't be too hard. The installation procedure is the same as it has been for all 2.0.x versions.
And yes, it is strongly recommended that you upgrade, as the Apache team has fixed several security issues and some bugs. They have also rewritten the module API, so your old modules source code might not be compatible with 2.0.4x. //Daniel
