Hi,

I have created a cross tab for a report that i am working on with rotated text (to 270 degrees) in one of the columns. When the report is deployed to Crystal Enterprise the text is not rotated, and appears as normal.

Is there a service pack or solution to this?!

Thanks in advance for your help

Matt

Please post your software version.

It's probably a limitation of the viewer you're using in CE, select the preferences and change to the Active X viewer, you're probably using HTML.

Sorry, its Crystal Enterprise 10 and Crystal Reports 9. We have around 500 reports in Crystal Enterprise so i am not sure that i will just be able to change the viewer as this will affect all the report wont it?!

We are deploying the reports through XML to Crystal Enterprise

any ideas if there is a service pack for this anywhere? i have checked business objects, but couldn't find any subjects similar so i am guessing not!

Thanks again

Matt

I seem to recall it being a limitation of the HTML viewer.

And yes, changing the viewer will make all of the reports look better and some will perform better (load pages before the report has completed).

You can change the default viewer for users, if that's the concern.

I will give this a go. Thanks for this. We have found out that if you export or print the report then it looks fine so it is just a problem with the viewer.

Thanks for your help with this. Much appreciated :D

Hi,
The HTML ( and DHTML) viewers are not capable of rotating text due to limitations in that markup method ( no <rotate180> tag for instance )...

The ActiveX viewer can handle that ( with a downside that it will require first-time viewers to install the ActiveX component, and that requires Admin rights on their workstation)..

Exporting to PDF or Printing ( as you found out) does not have a problem..
