Hi Folks !

The starting situation is:

I have a p610 with 1 hard disk "hdisk0" and only one vg "rootvg" containig lvs "hd5", "hd4" and so on. The system is a AIX 5.1 System.

What i did in with my p610 is the following:

1. Insert a new hard disk "hdisk1"
2. Install AIX 5.2 on "hdisk1" (also with rootvg of course)
3. Working with multi boot configuration - all fine
4. booting AIX 5.2 from "hdisk1"
5. With smitty i imported "rootvg" from hdisk0 into the LVM of system on "hdisk1"
6. import command renames "rootvg" from "hdisk0" to "vg00" and all logical volumes to "fslv0x"
7. i am able to mount all filesystems on "hdisk0" to the "hdisk1" system

BUT!!! Know my system dosn't but from hdisk0 anymore!!!

Please help! How can i get to back to the old situation with two hdisks and each in a separate "rootvg" ??

thanks in advanve
Helmut

first of all I think that "importvg -y rootvg hdisk0" wouldn't work when rootvg was active (configured in the system) - Maybe I am wrong.

To solve your problem maybe you should look at alt_disk_install script and find out how it handles with altinst_rootvg/rootvg_old/rootvg....

the script is a part of bos.alt_disk_install.rte fileset.
