Hi
Someone has removed one disk of rootvg!!!!
and I have this message:
# lsvg -p rootvg
rootvg:
PV_NAME PV STATE TOTAL PPs FREE PPs FREE DISTRIBUTION
hdisk0 active 575 136 00..00..00..41..95
0516-304 : Unable to find device id 000957284b0cf063 in the Device
Configuration Database.

How I can fix it and clean up the disk is no here anymore (it was a virtual one from vio server). I have to create a new disk on the vio server for the machine.
The new disk is available but I can't extend rootvg I need to clean this first!
Need some help please

Hi

try then

reducevg -f rootvg 000957284b0cf063

there is a note for reducevg command:

"Sometimes a disk is removed from the system without first running the reducevg command. The VGDA still has this removed disk in its memory, but the PhysicalVolume name no longer exists or has been reassigned. To remove references to this missing disk you can still use reducevg, but with the Physical Volume ID (PVID) instead of the disk name: reducevg VolumeGroup PVID."

Hi
000957284b0cf063 is the pvid so it is not working but I have succeed to fix it by running the command redefinevg with all disk: the one removed and the new one not yet allocated and the existing one just in case because when I did it with only hdisk0 it didn;t work
# redefinevg -d hdisk0 hdisk1 hdisk9 rootvg
0516-572 redefinevg: Volume Group already exists under name rootvg.
# lsvg -p rootvg
rootvg:
PV_NAME

PV STATE

TOTAL PPs

FREE PPs

hdisk0

01..00..00..41..95
All good now!!!!!
I have been able to add the new disk and rerun mirroring and bosboot
Cheers
