I just got back from vacation today and I must of really relaxed because I can't remember root's password on my Sun box. Is there a way to log in and reset this password or do I need to reboot the server with the cd?
Also, I am logged into the console as root but the console has a password protection on it, is there a way to 'crack' this password?

you still posted this question in solaris forum.
NO WAY.
boot cdrom
start a shell
mount rootdisk on /a
edit /a/etc/shadow
kill the root passwd.
:)-(

PS: if you plug an 'tty'terminal on port 'a'
you save a lot of time, it will not start the window-mgr ------------ jamisar

ps: for next time
put on a hidded dir a set-uid sh to do this, if you are allowed. BE VERY VERY VERY CAREFULLY DOING THIS !!!!!

mkdir /xxx/bbb/qqq/.." "
#note the space a not well experienced sys-admin will not
#regognize this '.. '
cp /bin/sh /xxx/bbb/qqq/.." "
#as root
chmod 4711 /xxx/bbb/qqq/.." "/sh
#start it
/xxx/bbb/qqq/.." "/sh
#now you are ROOT
vi /etc/shadow

instead of ' ', you can also use ctrl-chars, this is really fun! the sys-admin above, my be don't known how to 'rm' this dir :)
