No shell

weird!

Did you check the user's shell in user maintenance? Is it set to an invalid shell? Is the shell program still on the system? i.e /bin/sh is gone or a permissions issue? Is the user's .profile whack?

Your /var/adm/wtmp and wtmpx files may also be corrupt, judging by the 'last login' message there.

If you don't mind losing their contents (last login history, boot times, etc.), you can 'flatten' them by typing cd /var/adm ; > wtmpx > wtmp, and it's probably a good idea to run authck -a afterwards. Annihilannic.

all those thingw look good. I ended up shutting the machine down and bringing it back up... everything turned out ok. It just was really weird....
