root is no longer receiving email. 1

Greetings;
After years of normal problem free operation, our SCO Open sever 5.0.6 is no longer receiving email to the root user.
I have set up the mail to forward all unknown users to our exchange server and all mail for unknown domains to firewall, which then forwards the mail on to the appropriate external site. It has been like this for ions.

Any ideas?

Are you running MMDF or Sendmail?

If MMDF:
Look in /usr/spool/mail for a file called "root.lock".
Also look in /usr/spool/mmdf/lock/home/msg to see if it is full of pending messages.
Check if "deliver" is running.
