I would like to know what are the pros and cons of using either the root hint or the forwarder and what conditions should either one be used. I've been setting up most server using the forwarder that goes to the ISP DNS server. When should I use the root hint and why?
I've read the Microsoft articles and thy talk on both subject but i appear to be missing the exact benefit . The mention bandwidth and security issues using root hints internally. Any clear answers would be greatly appreciated.
