Root directory full

Hi..
I'm really facing a big problem.. hope you guys can help me...

My root directory which is "/" is full... This directory is actually under different hard disk(vg00) and i just installed new hard disk (vg05).. What i wanted to do is, i want to add in space to root directory using new hard disk which is vg05... Can i do that?? If can, Please guide me on how to do that...

Are there any directories in / which can be moved and them linked ?

Example : If you have /var under / then move /var to your new disc and then create a symbolic link from / to your new /var location.
 
Also, what housekeeping are you doing? There's several files that you should be keeping an eye on (best done via a script in cron), eg /var/adm/messages (to name but one!). One by one, the penguins steal my sanity. X-)
