A strange problem has occurred with Knoppix. After installing it to HDD, root and user accounts have different screen resolutions. I haven't encountered this before. Root is set at 1024X768 and my account is 800X600. I tried wiping out my account and setting it creating it again, but it still does the same problem.

Any ideas?

I am not sure with Knopix but there may be a default XF86Config file in the Skeleton directory and that default is set for 800x600. so when you create a new user that is the resolution you get. The config file is probally stored in you home directory and I believe Xfree86 looks in the home directory first before the /X11. I am not sure though, this is just a suggestion.

I didn't seem that there was any XF86Config file or anything to do with the system settings.

Strange enough, I have very limited access to what I can execute. I have had to chmod 755 so I can get somethings executable. How would I go about setting my privelages to a standard user? For example, on Red Hat, everything is good. With Knoppix I don't have permissions to execute some applications from the menu.
