I'm a little confused as to the extent of the interface between e7 & room master.

I'm told on one hand that there is a complete interface- meaning that the charge would appear in the guest folio except that it would not be detailed:

(pos location)-bar $50.00 would appear in the guest folio. and on the other hand, I'm told that the only msg that appears is in the form of an IM: Room 5 $50 Bar.

Can any one shed some light on this for me. The last thing I want is ticked off customers- I know, kinda hard in this field :)

E7 provides a basic interface, I know that with Opera and Fidelio the basic problem extends from the fact that each E7 workstation is its own revenue centre, therefore the RVC sent across the interface is not adequate for these Property Management Systems (PMS) products.

The structure of RVC, tender, total, itemiser totals and a single discount total are sent across the interface. Therefore you need to do:

a) configure the device (interface)
b) add PMS options to the payment tenders

cheers

Hi Mrpinks-thanks for the reply. My concern was the level of the interface but your saying that it in fact would be a complete charge that would be sent to the guest folio and not just a pop up msg that would prompt an employee to post the charge?

I've looked it up and found that for the interface to work we will need:

1. rs232 cable
2. 2 way licenses from room master
3. e7 key for the PC that would act as the 'server' unless one of the WS would act as the server.
