Is there anyone left besides me that supports these systems? Rolm doesn't have its own forum, I hijacked the Siemens one.
I can't log in to a pbx. I've seen this error over the years but don't remember the solution.

This system seems to be dying a slow death. Two days ago it was giving me a message "CPU Lacks Updates".
I thought that was only on redundant systems (which Mod 10 isn't).
At that time I was at least able to log in. LI HD showed "volume not found". The error table also showed
a bad power supply, but the phones are live, how could that be?
I'm tempted to ask a tech to hit the silver bullet, or initiate a restart from the PDC card, but am afraid to risk the system
not restarting at all. At least it's running off its memory.

Last attemtpt to log in today:
USERNAME:
ATTEMPTING TO MOUNT THE 'DIAG' VOLUME.
ERROR: CANNOT READ HDIPL FROM DISK.

MOUNT FLOPPY ERROR: Volume not found

MOUNT FLOPPY ERROR: Volume not found

Unfortunately it could be a bad hard drive, or if fortunate a restart would resolve it. It first looks for CNFG on he hard drive, then the diskette drive. Like you said, a restart may do worse than not fixing the situation.

I think I've seen the power supply error when the memory backup battery is bad. That is quite strange is saying the CPU lacks updates, I also thought that's only on a redundant system if when the standby side wasn't updated.
