rollover responses in panther

Hi,
I've been experiencing problems with panther 3.9 and rollover responses.
OS x mouse system seems to be messing up as items which normally respond to mouseovers i.e. my dock magnifying, my cursor changing to a hand over hyperlinks and cursor tracking up and down menus are no longer aware that the cursor is over them.
When i click on the items they respond but not on rollover.

Has anyone else experienced any problems like this and knows how to fix?
Perhaps reinstalling the mouse drivers if that's even possible?

Sometimes it helps to unplug the mouse and then plug it back in again. Occassionally my Kensingtom mouse does not respond upon startup or tracks very slowly. I unplug from the keyboard and plug it back (while the machine is on) in and all is well. You might also try pluggin in another mouse to see if the problem is with a particular mouse. Like everything else they can break.

If you're using a third party mouse, with its own software, you might check its settings under system prefs - it'll be at the bottom. For instance my Kensington prefs were accidentally set so that if I clicked the scroll wheel, the cursor became fixed and I could scroll the page by moving the mouse, but nothing else until I clicked the scroll wheel again. Drove me nuts until I figured that out. You might have activated something by mistake and not know it.

all done.. I guess it was my logitech wireless messing everything up.
