Rollover cable

I believe that I already know the answer to this question but I thought I would post it just to see if anyone else has had the same experience or know of a better more economical solution.

I have a dell laptop that I bought long before I got in to cisco switching and routing. This laptop did no come with a serial port on it and I really would like to use this laptop to configure switches and routers, currently I am using another laptop at work to do this. I know you can buy USB to serial converters that say they will do the trick but I was trying to see if there was a better way. Any ideas?? I was wondering if there is anyway to just use an adapter from USB to serial but then, how to I redirect the output from terminal services to the USB port. Any ideas would be greatly appriciated.

I had the same problem, I got a USB serial port i think it was $29 it is a 6" usb cable with a DB9 on the end. that little electronics are in the DB9 housing.
It works good.

The only one that seems to work with any success and that you can actually use the break functionone that i have found is from
