Hello All,

We have set up all 22 members of a department with voicemail boxes which are the same as their extensions. These employees are in 2 groups that each have an MCR extension on their phones for their group. Along with the Group MCR is a second MCR on their phones which is their Department extension. All 22 exensions hunt and FDN to their Group MCR which rolls to their Dept. MCR. The Group MCRs hunt and FDN to the Dept. MCRs. The two Dept. MARP'd sets' MCRS Hunt and FDN to the company's voicemail extension of 8250. We want 8250 to be the last stop - since the 81C PBX will know where the call originated and if it rang at Suzy's desk first, it will eventually end up in Suzy's voicemail box from the Dept. MCR if unanswered. The trouble that we're having is when dialing Suzy's extension, it only rings and never rolls through to voicemail. We have gone through and turned on SFA on all sets in hopes this would allow it to forward on through. Can someone please tell us what we're missing?

Below is one of the Dept. extensions intended to roll into voicemail.

Thank you in advance for your help.

roll is not in the book, ever.. phones (nortel).. either fdn (forward no answer) or hunt (busy treatment).. if you'll remember that when asking a question, we can help a lot faster..

the problem may be.. a call will forward no answer.. three times.. never more then 3.. and unless a number (dn, scr or mcr) is key 0 on a digital or the dn of a marped analog.. you can not promise fna.. i've seen some that do.. usually they appear on a single set.. but if a dn is say key 3 on 2 sets and one is fdn to mail the other to xxxxx.. that dn now stops forwarding..

work around for a non key zero dn to fna.. marp it on a vacant analog port..

As it turns out, Nortel apparently doesn't want phones rolling a 3rd time - it's "by design intent". Our vendor researched this and found it alluded to in the Software Features Guide page 659 of his version. Our workaround is to have only the Group number roll to voicemail and the Department numbers will be the Revert DNs so that callers can press zero and get to someone else in the Department. Most calls will be answered and transferred into voicemail and never make it to voicemail unimpeded.
