I am running an old DOS program on a number of windows PCs networked to an old server running Linux and Samba v3.0.9. I am trying to set up a new server and have installed Fedora 7 with current Samba 3.0.25 but on testing am having problems with the DOS program dropping the mapped drive. I understand that this is a known problem with later versions of Samba running old DOS programs and so as an easy solution want to roll back the Samba version to 3.0.9 which I know works. I am told that the easiest way to do this is to copy certain files/folders from the old server to the new one. Does anyone know which files/folders I would need to copy? Any help would be appreciated.
