role of perl in classical asp application

we have one asp application written in vbscript language.
my manager told me that learn perl script because we are using perl in backend processing. i am not understanding where we can use perl in asp application .please give me some idea where we can use perl in asp application

you can define PERL as a language for creating ASP pages (see

among others) although usually you would use Perl to create its own scripts rather than use it within ASP.

If you are unsure why your manager has asked you to learn Perl to support a VBScript ASP application then perhaps you should clarify it with him in the first instance ?

Are you saying that although some of the app is written in VBScript ASP there are elements written in Perl as well ?

yes some kitautomation things written in perl..( when we run the perl application some files are moving from working directory to distributed directory).

but still i am not understanding what is going in my application at backend
