For the last few days I have been receiving emails that have titles like INet mail service (none),MS Mail Storage ,MS Inet Message Storage, all of which are either 144k or 156k.It is a hotmail account and is now almost completely useless because it gets filled up so quickly

I had thought this might have come about through having the W32.Swen.A@mm virus(?) but a Symantec tool couldn't find it.Is there another virus that might have caused this?

Having read other posts here, it looks as if email problem is difficult/impossible to solve, irrespective of virus (or whatever) that caused it?

Would be grateful for any advice etc.Thanks.

Mike

The e-mails definately sound like swen.a and as long as you haven't opened any of them then you shouldn't be infected.
faq760-3862 Has a list of free online virus scanners that you can use to make sure.
The e-mails mean that someone that knows your e-mail address and has it in their address book is infected. The virus changes the from address do it is difficult to trace back to who is really infected.

wbg34,thanks very much for the info.

Regarding swen.a,where exactly does it look for email addresses-in the address book of Outlook Express?

Thanks

Mike
