ROD Showing logged off

we have nice perform r.2 SP5.

1.ROD window showing agent Logged off intermittently.
Gets the message "server is down..Reconnect...yes ..no.."

2.On some desktops it never shows logged on but agents are logged in on hard phone and taking calls.

what os is on workstations are there firewall involved.

what does rod log on client machine show. what does interaction server logs say when attempts are made to rod a call is it succesful or does the event not hit the call server ?
