I am running SuSE 8 and am trying to get this linux box to access the internet through my dsl account. My WIN98 box finds it no problem (using EnterNet300).
Here is the setup:
The DSL modem is connected to the internet and the other end is connected to my hub through the uplink port.
My 2 boxes are connected to the hub.
The linux box has Roaring Penguin installed and (I think) configured correctly. No IP (using DHCP). Both nameservers are listed. Ive checked MTU = 1452, and done all the editng of the various config files to make sure they reflect my proper user name and password.
When I try adsl-start it times out. But ifconfig eth0 shows me the nic card is working.
I live in central Ohio and my dsl isp is Ameritech. Any suggestions?
