Hi folks,
Just having some problems implementing roaming profiles on 2008. I have got it sorted on 2003. I have taken the same setup and applied it to the group policy. I have done the following:
In the user settings in active directory:
Profile - \\servername\profile$\%username%
Home - U: Profile - \\servername\home$\%username%
Then in the group policy i have set user config > windows settings > folder redirection to
appdata (roaming) - basic \\servername\home$
desktop - basic \\servername\home$
documents - basic \\servername\home$
All other folders (pictures, music, videos etc) set to follow the download folder.
Is this how everyone else does this?
The problem seems to arise when i switch between the classic start menu and the new vista menu. On the classic menu things seem ok. When i use the new start menu things seem to go to different places. I cannot deploy it like this because users will loose their work and things will be a nightmare for the support staff!
Has anyone else successfully deployed roaming profiles in 2008? Any tips gratefully received
Thanks in advance
