Hi,
I have inherited 5 terminal servers, running Citrix presentation server 4.0, but with no Citrix functionallity being used (Load balancing, universal printers, etc) other than the ICA connectability. Servers TS1, TS2, TS3 & TS4 are running W2003 x86, and TS5 is running W203 x64. All servers are within the same Citrix farm. (*** I know this not recommended, but I received it this way & hope to ammend things when I can move users off without affecting work load! ***)
Users from several satellite sites connect to specific servers (ie, Site A connects to TS1, sites B & C connect to server TS2, site D connects to TS3 & TS4, sites E & F connect to TS5) using wyse terminals. As the load of users per server is uneven, I have been tasked with enabling load balancing, and as a prerequisite enable roaming profiles.
Ideal end game for me would be to have the already configured local profiles switch to roaming as they are supposed to, without having to go down the route of manually copying/moving any folders
for approx one hundred users.
I have tested a configuration of roaming profiles & folder redirection on non-production equipment and everything works as it is supposed to (RDP only).
However, when I have attempt to test accounts on the live environment, folder redirection works on all servers, but profiles only become roaming on TS5 (the 64 bit server). The result is the same regardless of whether connecting with ICA or RDP.
I have checked the servers for security lockdowns (previous maintenance prefered to use local policy... sigh) but have been unable to find anything obvious that would prevent the profile from roaming.
The test user accounts can create test folders in the roaming profile share & are then owner of test folder.
I know it's long shot with a very bespoke situation, but I'm open to suggestions!!
Thanks in advance to anyone who fancies a challenge...
