Hello, im trying to have a user sync to a samba server.
Situation:
USA - SBS 2003 PDC
PANAMA - Server Standard 2003 Added to that Domain above (these 2 locations are connected via a vpn)
I have a Linux Samba server in the PANAMA network with a WAN IP. In the panama network i can access the Samba server from any computer. In the USA network I cannot access the Samba server since we do not have that IP routeable through the VPN.
On the PANAMA server2003 In AD, for a user (USER1), i give it in Profile Path \\123.123.123.123\user1
(123.123.123.123 is SAMBA server)
On reboot of USER1 computer, it says it cannot find the path to sync the profile. On USER1 computer I have added the network key for the SAMBA server so you can go to Start/run/123.123.123.123/user1 and view the directory without typing the user/password for that user on the SAMBA.
What im wondering, is it not loading the network key before it trys to sync to the samba.
or
another thing i wonder is does the AD pass the \\123.123.123.123\user1 to the USER1 computer itself to execute or does it try to do this on the server2003?
Ive also tried mapping \\123.123.123.123\user1 to S: on the USER1 and on the server 2003 and setting the Profile Directory: to S:
Didnt help...
any ideas?
