Server is running Small Business Server 2003
Workstations running Windowx XP Professional

An ISP is hosting our email. We are using IMAP in Outlook for all email accounts. We would like Outlook email settings to be roaming with our roaming profiles. We had tried everything to do this without Exchange but would not work.

Can this be configured in Small Biz Server 2003? We DO NOT want to host email. We just want Outlook email settings to be roaming (i.e. the IMAP email server settings).

Please give instructions on how this can be done.

So hang on, please clarify.

You DON'T have Exchange server. You are trying to configure your email settings on your client that runs roaming user profiles?

If so, you would be better off in the Windows XP forum.

If not, please explain again.

I am planning to run Small Business Server 2003 (which includes a small version of Exchange Server) on our server.

We don't want the server to handle any email (that will be done by our ISP). We just want our users to be able to log on to any computer in the office and have their Outlook 2003 email settings carried with them. Can this be done?

Previously we were running Windows 2000 Server. When a user configured Outlook email settings (i.e. her IMAP email account) on a computer and then logged onto a different computer, Outlook said it could not find the Outlook.pst file even though the Application Data folder was being redirected to the server. So we presumed that having Outlook settings roam could not be done with Exchange.
