Hi,

We've got some Power6 550 servers, with dual vio, connected to a HP EVA 8400. I've installed the AIX MPIO ODM Kit for EVA, and everything worked fine. Using /opt/hphsv/bin/hsvpahts we could see all the hdisks, and their paths (8 paths for each lun).

Now, our storage staff has eliminated 2 paths between the AIX servers and the EVA (deleting the SAN zones), in order to configure replication to another EVA.

The problem now is all the VIOs are complaining about 2 missing paths. That's logical, but it keeps writing errors to errpt, and one of our VIOs show errors about file /home/ios/logs/ioscli_global.trace. This file was 4GB, so I've erased it's content and these errors have disappeared, but not the continuous new errors in errpt.

I was thinking about doing rmpath on the failing paths, but since it's using the MPIO ODM for EVA, I don't know if I need to do something else.
In the EVA specific commands I don't see anything like rmpath, I only see rmhsv, that would delete all the EVA hdisks.

I've seen in hsvpaths and rmhsv that these commands/scripts issue standard lspath and rmdev commands, so I suppose it should be OK to do rmpath, but I would like to know first if someone has done something similar.

Thanks.
