rmove tape error

i'm receiving a remove tape from yellow cartridge Xerox 6180 -- the error will advance to the next cartridge and so on until back to the yellow cartridge so it doesn't appear to be a cartridge issue -- i opened up the unit and found that the grounding plate had broken loose i re-attached to no avail, has any one ever encountered this? same engine as the Dell 3115CN
