HI Gurus,

I created a RMAN Repository in oracle 8.1.7 under Win2k.
Can i use Oracle 7.3.4 As target database for RMAN.I would like to take backup of 7.3.4 thru RMAN(8.1.7).Is it possible?


Kindly suggest me

That is not possible. The version of the RMAN executable and the target database should be the same.

The minimum version requirement based on RMAN compatibility matrix is 8.0.3.
