We encounter a problem for AccPac 4.2A in a computer with Vista SP2 above's system.

The problem happens when we run some of batches, for example run "receipt batch list". The computer will freeze for a while, then nothing will be produced.

The error message includes "Faulting application name: rlzrun30.rts" and "faulting module name: CABL3.dll".

Can anyone help me to solve this problem? We would like to fins a solution to run it in wondows 7 for AccPac 4.2A. Any suggestion is welcome. Thanks.

Thank tuba2007 for your reply. What do you mean to run it in a virtual XP mode session, or how to run it in a Virtual XP mode session?

I have tried to run it in a XP compatibility mode, but I failed. Because our accpac.exe is in a shared network driver managed by Samba, in the "compatibility" tab windows, the option for "run it in a compatibility mode" is greyed and I can not tick it.

I have tried to run it in a XP and VISTA sp1 compatibility mode. But still get the same error about rlzrun.rts.

I'm going to try it with virtual XP mode.

I have tried to install PervasiveSQL client in the virtual XP mode, but it seems that it can not find database. Any suggestions?. Thanks?

Just wonder if there is a patch or modification to the AccPac 4.2A package to solve this problem?

Just today I installed Pervasive on a virtual machine, it worked perfectly. What doesn't "cannot find the database" mean? What's the error message?

I still can not install AccPac 4.2A in the virtual XP mode. here is waht I did:

Our psqldata is at a networkdrive \\mydomain\psqldata mounted as G. AccPac data is at \\mydomain\accpac mounted as J.

1) AccPac 4.2A + PervasiveSQL 2000 client installation:
For AccPac installation, just follwoing the wizard, and input data are:

Programs: \\tsclient\mydomain\accpac\ACCPAC
Tools: C:\CA_APPSW
Data: \\tsclient\mydomain\accpac\ACCPAC

Before finished, there is a error popup, say "VBA installer error". But AccPac can start.

For PSQL 2000 client installation, just follow installation wizard, for the server path, I tried:
\\tsclient\g\; or \\tsclient\mydomain\psqldata; or \\tsclient\j\psqldata; \\mydomain\psqldata ...
The error msg may be: "The server path was resolved but communication to the server failed"
Ensure Btrieve engine is started and rerun test..."

2) AccPac 4.2A + PervasiveSQL 9 sp2 client installation:
The accpac installation is the same as above.

For psql 9 client, input the IP (or hostname) of the server. Then input "\\tsclient\G\samples", The error msg is:
Local engine not accessible to the microkernel router.
Status code = 3012
For further assistance contact your system administrator or software vendor.

If start accpac, the error msg is:
Run AccPac
Can not access database (error=98).
------- above is my try -------------

Before I have installed AccPac in our computers for many times in the different systems. I guess that in the above installation, I might miss some things. Hope any suggestions. thanks.

Craigliu,
Were you ever able to get your ACCPAC 4.2A install to work in Windows 7 XP mode? I recently upgraded one of my employees desktop to Windows 7 and had the same issue. I used part of this post to head in the right direction and found another post on another site and after 2 weeks of tinkering, I have succesfully installed into XP mode and can open and work without the rlzrun30.rts error, just the same as I can on our real XP machines.

Hello dancpa, I have given up to try it after tuba2007's response. Would you please share your successful experience with me, or give me some hints or references to try.
Thanks very much.

You bet. I hope to help you out.

Background: We have a 7 desktop office with a 3 year old server running MS Server 2003. Server name is GMV2003-1. Each desktop has its own unshared drive(p: - t:) on the server, plus there is a shared drive(z:) for the sharing of documents and drive (k:) is the shared Accounting drive which only contains ACCPAC folders including the data folder. The path to the shared data for ACCPAC is \\gmv2003-1\Accounting\Accpac for an install on all pre-Windows 7 machines.

After installing ACCPAC on the Windows 7 machine and getting the same rlzrun30.rts error that you received when trying to open batch list windows, this is what eventually worked:
- I opened up a virtual xp session
- mapped the network drive (I used y: and mapped to \\gmv2003-1\Accounting\Accpac.
- Installed ACCPAC System Manager disk and put into the fields:
PROGRAM FILES - C:\Program Files\Accpac
TOOLS - C:\ca-apps
DATA - y:
- Installed all other ACCPAC modules
- shutdown xp session and reopened since boot path had been modified by install.
- Prior to trying to open ACCPAC, I have to open MY COMPUTER where the original K:ACCOUNTING drive is listed under the subsection OTHER DRIVES and its property is a \tsclient\, but under the subsection NETWORK DRIVES is the MAPPED Y: drive, which is the same folder as the k:. I have to double click the y: drive as if to open it to explore and at that time it asks me for an adminstrator password to be able to open it(I think this is because I am logged onto the desktop as the girl who uses that computer but she does not have full administrative priveleges so the XP session needs permission to open that y: drive.) After opening the y: drive with the adminitrator password, I can close it along with MY COMPUTER and then open ACCPAC normally.

Can now open A/R invoice, receipt, and adjustment batch listings like normal and everything in ACCPAC works.

I hope that helps.

Thanks dancpa for your. I'll try it by following your way next week. I have a question: how do you install PervasiveSQL client. In my environment, I need install both AccPac and PSQL client in order to that AccPac works.

You need Pervasive 10 or later for Windows 7. If you don't have the latest Pervasive, then you should be installing everything on a virtual XP session, where the older Pervasive clients will run.

Just as tuba2007 said, install everything including the PervasiveSQL in the virtual XP session when you install the ACCPAC System Manager. I forgot to note that I installed the PervasiveSQL files from the System Manager disk after step 3.
