Getting ready to put together a game plan to do an upgrade from 5.5 to 7.6 on a GR system . It currently has a HA CPPM CS1000 as the main site. There are 6 CPPM SRG sites and 2 SRG 50 at Rls 5.0 going to 6.0.

Question is: Are there any gotchas or incompatibilities I should be aware of?

Should I do these in any particular order? SMGs first then CS1000, or vice versa

Look in the upgrade guide, there is lots of information there about steps to do this. 6.0 and on up brings a whole new set of tasks to the table, UCM, Linux OS, Migrating NRS to Session Manager. Those are just a few things that come to mind. A few other things to consider is IP information, is it changing? Where is your Primary UCM going to be? Will there be a backup UCM? You have Primary, backup and member servers. To configure the Backup and member servers the primary has to be online first. Is it mostly IP or TDM? MGC cards will have to be upgraded as well as media cards. I could go on and on, need more info to nail down the specifics. But the upgrade guide should be your first reference.

Thanks guys. Had a conference call on this today and found out that the SRG50s will need to be upgraded to 6.0 first because they are backward compatible. The main site will need the Sig Server and NRS upgraded with new servers. I do not upgrade the Call servers at the main site until I do the SMG sites. Once all the SMGs are upgraded, then I upgrade the Call servers at the main. I can then register all the sites thru UCM.

Thanks for your input. Mike I will definitely use some of your tips on the cookbook when I do this,

Your NRS isn't really supported in 7.6. It will most likely work, but not a supported configuration. System and Session manager are suppose to be deployed for this application.
