Hi all
I need to do rsh / rlogin from aix 5.2 host to linux redhat 4ES it keeps prompting for password and when i type the password it sayes incorrect password.
What am I doing wrong?
I did enable rlogin on the linux (xinetd), putted the hosts in each other /etc/hosts and putted. rhosts in / and /root also the .rhosts is 644
Can anyone tell me what to do?
Does it need of pam implementation on linux ? if yes is there any howto?

any help will be appreciated

On modern systems, root logins are not allowed via telnet and related protocols, as they are insecure and begging for trouble.

1. Use ssh instead. if you absolutely must have a "no password" login, see
2. If this is unacceptable (I can't see why it wouldn't be, but some people just have to have thigns working a certain way) then see
