Greetings.
Does anyone know of a version of the above adapter that can be used in places that do not have 3 or 4 inch space for it to stick up, but there is some room to go sideways? Something with ribbon cable in the middle or something like that. And where can I get one (or more)?
Thanks.

Not seen any like this I'm afraid... However, it shouldn't be too difficult to get these custom made, as long as you can get a basic DB9 + cable into the back of the machine. I know there are various companies in the U.K. that make up special connectors and cables. Where are you located?

Thanks for the reply. I am actually in the US.

Sorry, I don't have any contacts in the US... However, if you know a friendly technician or someone local who is able to wield a soldering iron, here's what I'd suggest. Presumably you would be cabling from the back of the PC to, say, an RJ-45 wall socket. Take a conventional patch lead that's long enough to reach from PC to wall socket, cut the RJ-45 plug off the end, and solder into the DB9. Alternatively, you can get crimp-on versions of the DB9.

Hope that helps...
