Is there a standard for RJ 11 or RJ 45 modules? I have a campus with some 1,000 phones and a similar amount of computers if not more, and up to now have majorly been using a type of module with side clips made by at&t then avaya then lucent, etc. but am having a rough time finding more. Just looking for a good style that will always be available in the future. I see a number of places selling "kingston" modules. Are they reliable? Any suggestions on this?

Krone,Clipsal,Molex,Panduit, and many more, Google search or goto an Electrical/Data Wholesaler these tpyes are industry standard
You might do better contacting a local Data cabler and cementing a relationship so you can rely on a professional to always be there when you need asistance.

You should be able to find them just let your vendor know that you are looking fo RJ11 or 45 KEYED modules.

I suggest Hubbell. But I would also look at Black Box. The jacks are Hubbell and come with a lifetime warrenty.

I use a bunch of the Panduit, and they are available just about everywhere.

Why use the keyed jacks?? We use one jack for all voice and data connections. This sounds like a great time to start upgrading them to something a little newer. Let me know if you choose to go this route and I will post some products and part numbers for you.

Hell, there are no rules here - we're trying to accomplish something.

I know we used the keyed so the user could not accidently just plug their PC into a mod that may have power on it. I don't see the keyed as much today though not really sure why.
