We are going to run riser cable from one closet to another we have holes bored in floor to go from one closet to the next, do we have to have sleeves in the holes to run the cable through or can we just run cable without sleeves?

Thanks for the help Mike Patti

Kwick is exactly right, since the NEC requires firestopping in those situations you must choose and then followw the manufacturers assembly instructions. This is also where fill reatios must be followed, which will also be in the manufacturers instructions.

Agreed,

We do lots of boring btw floors, and our favorite for expandability is the 2-4" conduit, and the firestop pillows avaliable form any of the manufacturers listed above, but again, check with the authorities. The pillows pop in and out any time a MAC's needed, and they save big time and money in the long run.

DCHINC,
we use those too for walls, but most inspectors would make you take them out for anything other than the horzontal wall use, they really are rated only for that.

DHCINC: Quite right....the Inspectors in Toronto and Quebec havn't really ever accepted those things around here yet. Toronto is running fire codes nearly as strict as NYC. If they allow them in your neck of the woods, then I'm jealous, because they really are nice solutions....
