Any thoughts on why when I try to create and image using riprep I receive an error stating that the cd-based image is not available. I have installed it using the risetup.exe util but when i try to create it from the client machine I receive this error.

Had a similar problem, was down to SP level of the CD image and riprep image, ensure you are using the same level SP on all machines involved (include the server in that!)

Yep def is that, I have had similar problems in the past, if you run, Windows update this may have caused the problem, you can use certain patches after, say you use, SP3 as the image, I have used Windows update to patch the PC's for anything that says PRE SP4, and it works ok, but if I went to anything that was SP4 it asked for a CD Image, so try that

The same CD was used to load the image on the server and the computer. Would windows updates have an effect?
