Is this on just one type of network card and is it on a client that you have used RIS to install an OS on before?

Any errors in the server event log?

It also seems that the Client Installation Wizard is accessible as you can log into it so the problem is later. Can the user that you logged in as access the image and the .sif file that you are trying to install.

Also check if there is already a computer account in Active Directory.

Yes, it is a type of network card. No, Windows XP is installed on the client now.

The application event shows an error:

An error was generated by OS Chooser. The error code is in the record data. User: 1mka1 Domain: small.local Computer Name: DC3

For more information, see Help and Support Center at --------------------------------------
I uploaded Application Events file here:

Has this RIS server been working or are you just setting it up?

Can you try a Custom setup rather than an Automatic Setup so you can specify the client name?

Thanks for your help. Custom shows the same error.

Are you trying to install a captured image or a flat image of the windows CD?

Yes, I want to test RIS on flate image first. The image is on the RIS server under a shared folder "RemoteInstall"

I already have a final image with XP and applications (photoshop, dreamweaver, flash, office, indesign, illustrator ....), but I don`t know how to import the final image to the RIS

Would you please also show me how to import the final image to the RIS?

Thank you

At the moment we only use flat installs here then use Active Directory and WSUS for other updates.

OK. Could you please tell me how to solve this error ?

Error: The file iaStor.sys causes a unexpected error (21) at the line 3540 i d:\xpsprtm\base\boot\setup\setup.c.

Have you ever had this RIS server working or is it a new install?

If this is the only PC you have tried then i'd try some different hardware maybe without a SATA HD just a s a test.

Also does the install image have all the necessary drivers available in the $oem$ folder?

If not then you need to follow this guide to add them.
