RIPPLES I NEED RIPPLES!!!!

I need to know how to create a ripple effect in flash ... i need to have a "rain" drop hit and cause ripples then a word appears fom behind the ripples while distorting the text with the ripples. Is this possible in flash??

Everything can be done with enough time but this one will not be easy to do convincingly. Probably the best way to do this will be by animating it frame by frame rather than trying to do it through programming.

The falling drop is easy - a graphic symbol tweening across the screen. The ripples themselves need just be oval graphic symbols which are tween to increase in size the way you want but the hardest part is distorting the text - this could be achieved using moving masks with several layers of the text at different sizes showing through in a ripple pattern.

If you're looking for a Flash version of the famous Java rippling effect then the program isn't really powerful enough to do it properly.
