I put a new network card in our NW6 server over the weekend and am now getting the following error;

60:4.12758 SAP router configuration error node xxxxxxxxxx claims xxxxxxxxxx should claim xxxxxxxxxx

I assume that this is something to do with the MAC address on the new network card, but do not know how to solve it.

A RIP packet was received indicating that one of the servers or routers specified in the message does not agree with the local machine about the network number for the connecting circuit. This is a configuration error.

Change the network number on either the local system or the remote system so that all servers and routers on the media use the same network number.

If you change the network card id using nwconfig you get the same error coming up but in reverse so instead of saying 'claim a should claim b' it says 'claims b should claim a' so i'm guessing that something has already made the new network card it's home.

Any other ideas?

Reset any print servers or network printers by powering off and back on this should then re-align them to your network.

Yeah, I already did that, and it all seems to have settled down now.
