Mitel 3300 MX 4.1. Is ringing the 5324 IP phone while on a handsfree call supported? Has anyone ever tried it? Customer wants the phone to ring the same way as when he is on handset. Customer claims that it used to ring while handfree but i highly dout he was on a actual call when he tested it.

2 multicall lines

Key 1 is primeline
Key 3 is multicall of the primeline

both set to RING for ring type.

If the phone is engaged in a call while using the speakerphone, no tones will be heard over the speaker for calls ringing on other keys.

If a call is active on the prime line and a 2nd call is camped on the same line I am uncertain whether campon tone will be heard or not. I suspect not. I doesn't sound like your describing camp on anyway as it would beep in the handset and not ring in handset mode.

IS that documented somewhere? SO I can show the customer in black and white, that it's not supported. I keep telling them the same thing and they keep asking for it because they think it used to work.

It's common Sense.

If the speaker is engaged for voice, it can't be used for ringing.

I doubt it would be documented but you might try looking at the conditions for Speakerphone use.

It is more like common sense. The speaker is already engaged in a task, another task will not work. I'm pretty sure the documentation does say that a set on speakerphone will not receive a page, same principle applies.

Give them the help files and have them prove to you that it works. Or give them another set at that location with a ringing appearance of the first set. I'm sure he will really like having another phone ringing beside him. My guess is that it will last a week and either the 2nd set will be removed or the ringer turned down.

If you did not take enough time to get it right the first time...

What makes you think that you have time to fix it?

Thanks for suggestions. I did find help file that described the different ring types. And forwarded to them.

· Ring Continuous and Delay Ring Continuous will not ring a telephone that is in a Handsfree call.

They think this condition does not Apply to "RING" because it's not included in this condition.

Like you said it's common sense to us but they swear it used to work and they can't show me because it's broken now.
I'm gonna do record a call with Tech support saying that it's not supported then forward it off to them.
Thanks again for all the replys

It is impossible to prove a thing does not exist. You have a long road ahead. Good Luck.
