How can I turn the ringer off for a set? She wants to have it ring at times, and other times not. Do i change global settings and choose set volume, and not system volume? Or is there a feature code to stop ringing? I don't want to use DND because this is set up with physical lines assigned, and dnd will likely affect others.

dnd is the best way
it will just stop her set from ringing
will not affect others

just make sure that this set is not fwd on busy

have you noticed that most of the error causes today are between the Chair and the desk ?????

Will DND affect the intercom also? Or just the Public Lines coming in? I can't do DND if she will not get intercom calls also. I was thinking to set her lines to Appear only, and hope she can hear other sets ringing in the office and answer if she wants. But if I can set global options to Set Volume control, would that allow her to lower the volume all the way to gone?

Thanks

dnd will kill the ring of intercom also

set volume control will not kill the ringing altogether, but it does go very low , but again it affects the intercom ringing
another option it to hook up a external aux ringer in her area

have you noticed that most of the error causes today are between the Chair and the desk ?????

Just an Idea????

Try using a service mode and add her into a ring group.

If No one is using service modes then she can be a control extn for the lines ringing in.

assign the ringing lines to a spare ring group eg 002.
assign her extn as the only member off the group.

Now when she press the service mode button(feature871)
her phone will ring for incoming calls.
When she switches the service off her phone does not ring for incoming calls.

Internal calls will still ring as normall.

CAUTION:!!!! this is fine as long as she is not forwarding calls on busy or delay ring to her MAILBOX.

If so external calls will end up in her mailbox(this may not be desirable.
