Hello,
First, honesty. I am relatively clueless in this crowd. I have no training, but I'm the guy with the most experience in this stuff so it's my job. Below I have outlined in lay terms what I am doing and the result.
What I am trying to do:
Setup extensions 127 and 103 so that a call going to 127 will ring there, then ring 103, then go to VM for 127 if nobody picks up. So if someone calls the main number and I transfer them myself, or if they call the DID number for 127, or if they call the main number after hours (night mode) and select 127, they ring 127, then 103, then go to VM for 127. Same path no matter what.
What I have done:
Went into 24-09. Went to the settings for 127. 24-09-01 was set to 'Call Forward Busy/No Answer'. I left it on that option. On 24-09-02, changed the setting from 200 (our Univerge UM8000 VM) to 103. Verified that for extension 103, 24-09-01 was set to 'Call Forward Busy/No Answer', and that 24-09-02 was set to 200.
The Result:
Call to the DID phone number for 127 rings 127, then 103, then VM for 127. Success.
Call to main number after-hours (my phone station up front on 'Night Mode'), 127 option selected by caller through our auto-greeting menu rings 127, then 103, then VM for 127. Success.
Call to main number during normal hours, I transfer the call to 127, rings 127, rings 103, then comes back to my phone as 'Trnsfr Recall'. Does not go to VM for 127 - Problem.
So my task now is to get the system to ring 127, then 103, then go to VM for 127, when I transfer a call to 127 during normal hours when my station up front is not in night mode.
-I think it may be possible to do this by programming the 'Do Not Disturb' settings for extension 127 such that mode 1 is normal, ringing at 127, then going to 127 VM, mode 2 rings 127 and 103 simultaneously, then goes to 127 voice mail (I have a similar setting on my station), and Mode 3 is direct to VM for 127. But I cannot find these settings to do this.
-I am slowly learning about virtual extensions, and they may hold the key to my quest. But I've no idea how to set them up and bend them to my will.
Any help is very much appreciated.
