Ringing remote extensions

Is there a way to include a remote IPO ext to ring.
In other words I have 2 sites setup [A] and . [A] being the central, 90% of all calls goto to [A] but I would like to be able ring incoming calls at extensions at is that possible?

In level 4.0 you can make distributed huntgroups. You'll need the advanced networking license though.
Otherwise you'll end up with workarounds like making a sequential huntgroup with diverted (to siteB) phantom users with divert group calls ticked.

If not on version 4 it is do-able but it would have to overflow to the remote group/phone rather than ring it as part of a local group.

Are you talking about hunt groups or DID. if it is just DID then make incomming call route with destination of remote extension number

You could make a "fake" user in the main location and set up an unconditional forward to the other extension or direct number in the remote site. add the fake user to the hunt group. That should work.

Thanks for all your replies and ideas I'm on 3.2(59) 2 -403 and 1 406 so I guess my next question would be does 4.0 play nice with 3.2(59) I figure for now it's a good idea to keep all software levels the same?

4.0 won't work on a 403
It has not enough memory !!!
the 406 needs to be at least on pcs 8 !!!

so i think you have to use the way round

You can still ring remote phones from a group. It may not offer all the features you wish it to but it does work. I will write an offline reply to this an post up in a while.
