I have a scenario where I have a 7310 set ( 723-3229 ) in a warehouse. I have programmed an analog extension 291 and assigned it the target line for the warehouse set. This analog extension is hooked to an Algo ringer so that when the warehouse phone DID #( 723-3229 ) is called the Algo ringer rings. The problem is that when the phone is called internally ( Ext.229 ) the Algo does not ring. Is there a way to have it ring both internally & when the DID is called.

As you already have 3rd party hardware installed, I would suggest a hunt group, and assign both the actual set, and the analog extension to that group.

Which system/software level are you dealing with?

You could alternatively use the aux ringer contact on the system, if you haven't already put it to use...

I do have software with hunt groups. How would I set that up so that the calls go to the hunt group ?

Depending on the dn's of your hunt group, assign both analog and digital extensions to ext 7xx (or whatever your hunt groups are).

Tell the staff that the extension number they need to transfer to is the HG ext#. Make sure any ccr paths goto the HG ext#.

Overflow to VM dn, or wherever you'd prefer they go.

What is the significance of the number 729 beside HG:01
What does that number refer to ? Do I assign the target line of the digital set as the line in the hunt group ?

The number 729 is the hunt group number and that is the number you would dial internaly or thru the AA/CCR instead of the sets DN also program the analog DN to the hunt and I would assign the target to the hunt and make the prime the hunt group DN. Make it broadcast and make it overflow or que to itself.(HG DN)

What we have done in the past (although it will void your set warranty) is open the 7310 set and take a feed directly from the speaker. This has the added benefit that pages will be heard over the algo as well. It may be primitive but it worked for our needs.

if you don't want to void the warranty you can connect the algo to the headset jack (i believe its the outer pair)
you will get the ring from it and not affect the set

Yes but how is the Aldo ringer hooked up now?
If hooked up to the AUX port on KSU then go to Capabilities under the DN of your ATA and set AUX to yes.
This will tell it to ring what ever call comes in.

While your add it go to the Target Line and tell AUX Ringer not to ring as it wont be need anymore and to keep your programming clean.

after rereading the posts, if i have it right

ringer connected to ata ext 291
7310 set ext 229
target line rings on both

if this is correct the fix is....
make ata 229
make 7310 291
change the name of 291 to 229(so it shows as the other ext)
add answer dn of ext 229 to 291

now both sets ring for target line and if they dial 229
